Charlie Kilshaw Memorial Race 2026 Results

What a fantastic evening at our annual Charlie Kilshaw Memorial Race, held in memory of our past club member, Charlie.

With nearly 100 runners taking part, it was a brilliant turnout, and it was especially lovely to see Charlie’s son, Chris, on the start line.

🥇 1st Male: Gregor Yate (Inverclyde)

🥇 1st Female: Our very own Anya Maclean

🥇 1st Garscube Male: Crawford

🌟A special mention goes to Anya, who not only took the women’s title but also smashed the Garscube Women’s 5 Mile Club Record by an incredible 1 minute 40 seconds, stopping the clock in a phenomenal 27:07. What an outstanding performance! 🔥👏

A huge congratulations also to our Handicap Winner, Jim McAneny 🌟. A thoroughly deserved victory – it’s fantastic to see you running so well. 👏

Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without an army of volunteers. A massive thank you to our referee Issy⭐️race organisers Alison and Amy 🤩, along with Paul and all of our officials and volunteers who gave up their time to make the evening such a success. 🙏💪👏

And, of course, we can’t forget our amazing bakers! 🍰 The spread was incredible, and the bake sale alone raised over £500. With the overnight fundraising total standing at approximately £1,700, that’s an amazing achievement. The money raised will be split between our club charities, helping to support some fantastic causes in Alzheimer Scotland and Sands - baby loss charity.

We’re starting to think Garscube needs its own version of the Great British Bake Off… or maybe even a Cake Run! 🍰🏃 Any takers? 😄
